It isn’t a new conversion, although this apartment is new to the market. It dates back to the mid-1990s, when it was converted from factory space to living space courtesy of Eva Jiricna. Best known for her work on commercial builds, the Czech architect also worked with Richard Rogers, notably on the Lloyd’s of London headquarters.

I think we can say this one has aged well. Perhaps because time has been kind to this kind of place.

Original features are always helpful when it comes to conversions and this one has exposed brick walls and Crittall windows from the original factory, sitting well with the more contemporary fixtures and fittings that adorn the loft apartment.

You will find the flat on the first floor, with direct entry into the ‘expansive’ open-plan reception room, dining area, and kitchen, the latter with stainless steel worktops and gas cooker and all with solid oak flooring.

The 1,200 sq. ft. of space also includes a bathroom and shower room with guest WC, along with ‘corridors’ of built-in storage on either side of the apartment, which in turn lead to the two bedrooms.

That’s not quite all, as the apartment also comes with its own private garage and a shared roof terrace.

There is a service charge of around £2,500 per year, along with the not-inconsiderable matter of the £1,350,000 price tag.
