More 1960s modernism from an area known for it. This particular 1960s Austin Vernon and Partners-designed townhouse in West Dulwich, London, SE21 does need a bit of a lift though.
Found on Lings Coppice, this place was designed by German architect Manfred Bresgens for Austin Vernon and Partners in the first half of the 1960s and although updated since, perhaps needs some more work to bring it back to its best.
The Bresgens designs are known for their central atrium and this one is no exception, with some wonderful double height space in the centre of the property. A gallery looks down from it and what looks like the original stairway is still in place.
The frontage and the window frames also still look like originals, possibly the doors too. Basically, not a lot has changed outside of finishes and furnishings from what we can see. Always a plus.
